Last Monday, Google rolled out their latest enhancement to their algorithm and it has everything to do with mobile websites.
Back in 2015, Google hinted they will be altering their algorithm and indexing structure to take into account mobile websites. Up until now, desktop websites have been the primary factor when they were indexing websites. However, as of last week, that has now changed.
Google is now indexing websites primarily on mobile-first. What that means is if your website is mobile-friendly, you will have a leg-up in search engine position whether you have a desktop website or mobile website. So it’s crucial now more than ever to make sure your website is mobile-friendly and offers mobile users a great user experience if you want to see your search engine positions grow or at least remain steady.
